Kilimanjaro Education Foundation, founded in 2006, is incorporated in New York State and is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization.  KEF’s mission is to provide African children the same education opportunities as children in developed countries. KEF strives to improve education and to build school facilities for underprivileged children in and other countries bordering Kilimanjaro.

KEF works with parents/guardians, teachers, board of education members and village officials to determine local and individual needs. The Foundation raises money to realize its goals and implements its projects through individual/corporate donations and grants. KEF’s efforts are supported by volunteers who participate in charity climbs, hikes and other fund raising efforts.

KEF’s volunteers and directors share in and impart not only the Foundation’s passion for children and education, but also in KEF’s core values of honesty, integrity, creativity and imagination.
